Intuit Real Estate Solutions Successfully Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit

CLEVELAND, Ohio – December 6, 2005 – Intuit Real Estate Solutions has received SAS 70 Type II certification after passing a stringent audit for protecting customer data. IRES, a unit of Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) is the only property management software provider serving the residential, commercial and corporate real estate markets to receive this certification.

IRES received the certification after rigorous third-party testing of its NetSource application hosting services. For clients, the certification verifies that data is stored in a safe technical and physical environment and that IRES’s processes ensure the data’s ongoing safety and integrity. Furthermore, IRES clients can include this certification in their Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program, confident that IRES’s information technology practices meet or exceed industry standards.

SAS 70 is an acronym for the “Statement on Auditing Standard SAS No. 70, Service Organizations.” These internationally recognized auditing standards were developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and are used by service auditors to assess the internal controls of a service organization. IRES received the certification following a six-month audit conducted between May and November 2005 by SAS 70 Solutions, a nationally recognized independent firm.

The audit concluded “without qualification” that there is no perceived risk to IRES clients in hosting their data on IRES servers. It found that reasonable controls exist to protect client data in a third-party environment, and that they are executed with proper oversight and review.

The Type II audit report further found that all controls are in place as stated, suitably designed to achieve specified control objectives, and are reasonably effective in meeting those objectives. To ensure the continued safety of client data, IRES will conduct a Type II audit annually.
